Human and social biology
does anyone know if the human and social biology paper is harder than the biology or integrated science paper?
i think h.s.b is easy
it is harder than the rest of the subjects because it has more to it meaning more information of how the human system works and other various activities
hsb past paper question will help you past the exam along with paying attention in class!
anyone willing to let us form a study group or something you can contact me at kennedykerron@yahoo.com please
HSB is not difficult. Actually nothing is. You have to be committed and want to do the work and you will past !
to master this subject you will ofto do a lot of reading and practice some pass paper question and work along with your teacher
i think that human and social bology
is a very difficult subject
it is a simple subject that can be managed by any teenager with a good teacher and the will to read ahead and to test yourself on topics you may find difficult until you are clear on the topic
doing this subject for the first time i need lots of help and did i mention i am doing it january 2012!
IT's one of my favourite subjects,it's great.

its my first time doing hsb and am still a little confused
don't b confused it jus kinda challenging once you don't study.....:O and it's also marked really hard
I want to wish everybody going exams all the best and remember to pray that you commit things to memory that you studied. It is my first time doing hsb too. Some things can get a little confusing to be honest. I wish this exam was an oral exam instead.
its excellent
mitosis and meiosis diffrences
mitosis takes place in asexual reproduction and meiosis in sexual reproduction also mitosis produces identical individuals(clones) and meiosis gives rise to genetic variety
hey preparing 4 cxc
mitosis is a kind of cell division which the two new cells are identical to each other.
Meiosis is a kind of cell division also(divides into 4), but it provides variation.
MITOSIS:
Produces Clones
Occurs in normal body cells
Nuclei have identical genes
Ensures the diploid number of chromosomes (all humans have 46 chromosomes n the body cells)
MEIOSIS:
Produces variation
occurs in the gametes
Ensures the haploid number of chromosomes (23)
Nuclei have genes mixed by crossing over
i have never don this subject befor please for ur support on this one.
hello, as you can see i would like help in human and social biology. i picked up this subject in the repition of my fifth form year.i am an excellent student in this subject area and has come 2nd in my entire class of 18. i don't have the fourth form notes or topics. so i'm asking if you can send me the topics i would have gotten in fourth form please and thank you...:-)i am willing to read and do what is necessary to pass with a distinction..
Hi i would be doing hsb for the first time and i am kind of uncertain on what to expect or if i would understand in at all cause i am more of a business person. Can anyone give me some tips on how to approach it I would really appreciate it. thanks.
HEY everyone..i know u must be excited since some of u are writing the exam in Jan...
If u all need any help with BIo or HSB...feel free to email me ur questions...i am not gonna do anyones homework :) but i am willing to clarify any misconceptions
about HSB vs BIO...like the previous teacher said...HSB deals with more human an social aspects..but with BIO what ever topic u cover on Humans/animals..there is a corresponding plant aspect to it..so HSB is less difficult overall...I do have some students that signed up for both..which doesnt make much sense ...my opinion...if u need bio for a future profession...do it...its a lovely subject...but if u just need "science" subjects to make up ur certificate..then do the HSB..
email me your questions if u would like..
narisa.mohammed@gmail.com
Can someone please give me a brief explanation on gaseous exchange and also the digestive system? please
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION,THIS IS MY FIRST TYME DOING THE SUBJECT AND MY TEACHER IS A LITTLE FAST! IT WOULD BE NIE IF YOU COULD HELP ME STEP BY STEP SO THAT I MAYBE SUCCESSFUL..................... I AM A REPEATER SO I WOULDNT HAVE COMPLETE THE GRADE 10 SYLLABUS.... THANK AGAIN.
i wasnt given the chance to do HSB, until now and im thinking to write it. however im a little concerned about about the short time left before CSEC and im already doing bio what should i do?
Hello,
Well after working so hard with the BIO do u really want to switch? with labs esp...Bio gives u a lot more options when u need to get a job in the future than HSB...but if u choosin a non science field when ignore my last comment
Switchin should not be hard...Just get a copy of the HSB syllabus and see what u need to complete still....do lots of past papers and u should be good!!
let me know how it goes
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DOING THIS SUBJECT TOMORROW IS MY TEST I HOPE I PASS IT.WISH U GUYS ALL THE BEST
hsd is very easy only if u study your "work" and know wat you are doing. just have your head on all the time.
@babydrea In comparison to Biology and Integrated Science, I definitely think that Human and Social Bio is wickedly easier.. No doubt about that.. You basically learn about plants, animals, human behaviour, diseases, etc.. Biology I think is more in depth and challenging, not to say that H&S is a quick cup of tea but its more manageable. : )
I can help with the Hsb subject, its a really cool subject and not as hard as it may seem. It really is stuff your suppose to know. If you need any help at all contact me cryssie1@hotmail.com
if ur doing bio n int... HSB shouldn't be difficult 2 analyze... itz my favorite subject I'm doing it next year.
SO DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE TO DO BOTH HSB AND INTEGRATED SCIENCE BECAUSE I THINK IT IS BASICALLY THE SAME THING BECAUSE BIO IS A PART OF INTE...........THATS WAT I THINK
hi i can help in hsb
hi, could u please help me with the hsb, its my first yr doing it and i want to sit the exam next june. i need to kno what topics i should focussed on mainly
Hello, as a teacher i would not say HSB is easier or more difficult that the other two subject. To put it simply its different. After teaching these subjects the problem which i have to cope with most of the time are Biology students who come into HSB thinking its a (very) diluted version of biology (less of a problem with int science students since they come in expecting something new). And thus are most of the time put back when they find that their biology knowledge doesn't put them above the rest all the time though it does help. HSB is a bit less broad and more in depth on the human and social part (hence the name) and i personally find it a more interesting and easier study since the students are studying a subject with a smaller focus area hence making it easier for them to inter-relate the ideas and concepts. Thats not to say that my biology student can do the same in their biology class.
Best of luck to all you guys taking the HSB, IS or Bio paper.
what is the chemical made by plants from the nitrates they absorb from the soil?
can i get a hsb study partner
im doing this for 2 years now and it is very easy
I am going to try the HSB paper next year could you be my reference partner perhaps?
