CXC issues results for May/June 2009 CSEC exams

CXC releases results of the 2009 May/June CXC CSEC exams
to regional Ministries of Education
CXC has announced on its website that the results for the CXC CSEC May/June exams 2009 will be issued on Monday 17th August 2009.
These results are issued to regional Ministries of Education (MOEs) which then release the results to local schools. After this date, students may contact their schools and/or local MOEs to find out information about their exam results.
Hi my name is damali and i got 5 subjects and i'm very happy about how i did. i got a 1 in E.D.P.M, 2 in office administration, 3 in P.O.B, 1 in Shorthand and a 3 in P.O.A. my whole family is very pleased i hope everyone is pleased with there results. Congratulations on getting your CXC subjects. I am sure you must be very pleased - and very relieved! Good luck in your future. Also, thanks for taking the time to give a shout-out to the other students who will be sitting soon and your teacher. Some people tend to forget their teachers when the results come out, I am sure she appreciates it very much.
i did better than i expected, i got a ditinction in social studies, a grade 1 in integrated sci, a grade 2 in maths, english, history and literature, and a grade 3 in geography...congrats to everyone again
i really would like to congratulate everyone that did their best in csec. doesnt matter the grade. i personally did nine and got nine ones and eight distinctions. i just want to know what a credit is??
i have passed all my 8 subjects. i have a distinction in english, distinction in integrated science, 1 in IT, 2 in literature, 2 in geography, 3 in maths , 3 in french and a 3 in history. i didnt even think i cud have done so well. yay me!!! i'm so proud of myself.
well i am really worrying about sitting the csec exam next year...........i really need to do a lot of work in accounts Especially......i really want to do my best but i am worrying if its gonnna b hard............

i think i did well enough.too all those preparing for CSEC goin into form 4/5 ,jus listen when ur in class nd do ur labs wen u reach home.it doesnt take much to get distinctions just a little application and trust in God.....i'm a 16yr male and after doin all of dat, my life hasnt run away.....all u hav to do is re-focus ur energy and it will work out for the best....but to all who wrote exams with me this yr, CONGRATULATIONS and i only hope you attain ur goals in life keping in mind that u can achieve ANYTHING once u put ur mind to it .....Never limit urself.......u can do it.......& dont forget to pray ..............and u will SUCCEED....

I am happy with my grades 3 twos and 2 threes and 1 one out of the eight i took.
i got 5 distinctions 3 credits and 2 pass math i still can't come to the to know how i got a grade 1 after all i hate math. all u guys in forms 3 to 5 just study and do all ur labs/sba's over the christmas holidays and weekends omit all televition watching and parties it's time to hit the books listen to ur teachers when ur in class, altgough my teachers didn't pay attention to us, they think we would pass but we proved them wrong we all came out on top.
I am satisfied with my grades even though CXC was tough and most of the teachers at my school never showed much attention to the students i managed to passed 5 CXC. math, eng, IT, POB, OA. i am glad i scored distinctions in POB and OA, my 2 favorite subjects:) i should be going to college this year hopefully the late application would not influence the acceptance.
It's really hard for me to understand what really went on with cxc results for may/june 2009.
Last year i did maths i hardly ever practice i wasnt prepared for it i had too much other subjects to worry about, i did not want to do maths but it was compulsory. I got a grade four i wasnt suprised since i wasnt prepared for the exams. This year 2009 i went to my classes did all my practice exams from class 7:15pm i got home usually at around 8:10Pm i went to bed by 9:00 wake up 2:00am practice like crazy until 6:30 get ready for school and then from 4:30 to 7:15 math class and so the cycle went and to tell me i failed math again i dont know how this could be. What did i do wrong or what did i not do . I am seriously confused frustrated and disappointed i know i work for a pass i did not get it i cant change that and i cant stop thinking about it. Its really hard to get over. :(

I know its really hard when you put in the effort for a subject and you don't see the reward in a pass at the end of it all. Bear up, it will take a while to get over this.
To be able to tell you what went wrong, you would have to do the exam papers over and have someone check your answers to diagnose the mistakes you made on the papers.
Then using that information, you could start working to improve the mistakes you made on the papers. Since in both the CXC CSEC math and English A exams, the critical paper is paper 2 - this is where you make the most marks for the exam - I suggest you start working on the topics that appear on that paper.
You may also want to consider getting a new math teacher, ask your friends and colleagues who passed the math exam to recommend a good tutor for you. (And could you post the tutor's contact info here for others who may be interested? Thanks!)

i want to say this website helped me a lot to pass English in cxc so trust me just follow the instructions of this website and you should get a grade one.

lets compare which islands/ schools did the best.put ur school name and the contry you live in. i'm frm dominica the highest was 9ones and 2 twos. 2 ppl got it one frm dominica grammar school and st. mary academy. both of them boys.
well im frm jamaica and i did cxc frm 3 form i did mathes where i got a two then in fourth form i did it ova and got a grade 1 and i did english, human biology ,inte science , spanish where ui got 1 in all and then in my final year in 2009 i got 6 ones and i go to huttons acadamy and may pen high

Im from St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The highest was 12 ones, 10 distinctions from each, from 2 students. One from Girl's High School and the other from St. Vincent Grammmar School(boys).
That is really amazing!!!!.....but does it make sense to do all those subjects?...isn't that being a little ridiculous....i mean at the advanced level u only have to do like 4 subjects....n at university only like 3 subjects really come into play....n there is no profession that requires all that qualification....so in my opinion...it doesn't make sense to do more than probably ten subjects.
I am from Tobago and the highest on the island was 8 ones by 2 students from Bishop's high....both female,but one actually did nine subjects and received an 'A' in additional mathematics(this is a GCE subject..not CXC).....but there were 7 other persons from that school who received 7 ones......n 1 person from another school with 7 ones.
I jus wanna thank the Lord for his mercies on me, i am happy to say dat i passed two out of ma 3 subjects, and i got dem in grade 2's, ma parents are so happy n so am i, now its time to move on to higher heights
Hi everyone ,i am Wendy who is residing in Guyana , can anyone here can tell me when result would be coming out in Guyana,i am so really nervous and afraid to collect my result.Alot of thing is running through my mind right now ,but i am just trusting God that I pass all my subjects because with him nothing is impossible.

Can someone plz explain how these distinctions go plz is a 1 a distiction?
A one is most certainly NOT a distinction but a distinction is a one.You can tell if you got a distinction or not by looking at the profile grades for each subject...All A's signifies a distinction.
a distinction is when you get an a in each profile for your exam for example comprehension computation etc.
first of all i would like to thank the CXC markers and all the clericals there who make this marking exercise possible. i am so very proud of myself for the hard work has paid off i got all 1's in my CXC examination and my parents are real proud, now i submit the results to the university of tech hopefully they will accept me. again i say hard work and prayer conquers all:) i wish everyone all the best in their CXC examination. from jamaica.
spanish was surprisingly poorly done in my skool! mostly 2's (sum ppl mite argue dats nt poor...nt daz a different story)!!! wht were u guys grades like?

Well I want to know what really went wrong this year?I think it's CXC necessary for CXC to get their act together. I for one, feel as though am ripped off. I got a 2 for span. Majority of us got 2's.
In my opinion, it seems as though CXC thinks they will commit the unforgivable sin if they award ones in certain subjects. E.g. Geography,Chemistry,Physics, Music,Spanish Unfortunately, I did those subs. I did a lot of work-studied, sought personal help in times of uncertainty and practiced, yet still I got a trailer load of twos.
Otherwise Congratulations to all those who got ones,especially those who did 12 and 14 subs.
